A polki teardrop, and then green beads falling below it. Simple in concept. Striking in practice. A polki teardrop pendant is the pinning motif — flat-faced, luminous — from which three strands of pearl chain descend, ending in large green oval beads. The green beads are deep and faceted; the pearl strands give the piece its movement; the polki anchors it at the top. The whole kalgi is compact compared to the longer Simar styles — shorter, more wearable for hair that isn't fully down. Zamrud Kalgi — an emerald tassel. The green bead finish brings the colour of Jaipur's emerald tradition to the end of the cascade, where it catches the eye from below.
